ADANIDA’OSHA ECO VILLAGES

For millennia, the Indigenous Peoples of North America designed, innovated and constructed housing that integrated with the specific environment in which they lived. Indigenous housing wasn’t mere “shelter”, it was a reflection of their beliefs, lifestyles, and the deep relationship between humans and the Natural World that sustains us.

Our ancestors didn’t just build houses, they developed villages that were sustainable, economically self-reliant, the central space for the nurturance and growth of the family and our future.

MISSION STATEMENT

Adanida’osha Eco Villages will empower responsible land development, the preservation of the natural beauty of its open spaces and common areas, and fiscal responsibility in the long-term operation and maintenance of the homes and the community.

VISION STATEMENT

Adanida’osha Eco Villages will be safe, friendly residential communities that nurture a sense of mutual respect, cooperation and community between the inhabitants and the Natural World.

Adanida’osha means – “for the common good”. Common good is understood to encompass all life and the future. It is key principle embedded in the mandate to take great care today to ensure the wellbeing of seven generations into the future.

We believe that housing and facilities are fundamental human, cultural and spiritual rights. Our ancestors developed and built incredible housing and facilities that were perfectly integrated into the eco-system and cultures in which they lived. Every dwelling not only provided shelter but nourished the cultural, social and spiritual vitality of our peoples.

We believe we can re-assert our inherent brilliance and capability to achieve excellence in housing and village/community development. We also believe that we can solve the long standing housing problems and issues that have plagued Indigenous nations and communities for nearly 50 years.

Of utmost importance to us is the ability of this approach to produce housing that achieves the principles we’ve set for ourselves.
